The Karle wine and sparkling wine estate in Ihringen on the southern part of Kaiserstuhl cultivates around 11 hectares of vineyards in the Baden wine-growing region according to ecological principles . The grapes are always selectively picked by hand. The owner is Gerhard Karle, who is the fourth generation to run the estate, which was founded in 1899. Wines and sparkling wines are produced.

Locations

The vineyard's Ihringer locations Winklerberg and Fohrenberg are among the climatically preferred vineyard locations in Germany. Riesling , Chardonnay , Silvaner , Gewürztraminer and especially late , gray and white burgundy , which are planted on 70% of the cultivated area, thrive on the local volcanic weathered rock and loess soil .

The estate also offers a Pinot Gris and a Pinot Noir Rosé wine sparkling wine in the classic champagne process ( bottle fermentation ).

Awards

At the international Premium Select Wine Challenge competition , the wine and sparkling wine estate received a gold award in December 2005 for its 2003 Ihringer Winklerberg Pinot Noir red wine, Auslese, dry .

The Karle wine and sparkling wine estate is the only DLG-recommended winery in the Baden wine-growing region.
