Knipser winery

The Knipser winery is a winery in Laumersheim in the Palatinate wine-growing region . It is a member of the Association of German Predicate and Quality Wineries .

The Knipser family, which traces its origins back to South Tyrol, can look back on a long winemaking tradition. The family business, which was founded in 1876, is now run by the brothers Volker and Werner Knipser and his son Stephan. The latter two work as cellar masters. With an annual production of 400,000 bottles, the winery is one of the largest in the Palatinate.

As the best winery in the Palatinate alongside the Ökonomierat Rebholz winery - this is how the Gault-Millau WeinGuide sees it - it also holds a top position on a national level. Especially in the area of ​​red wines, the products of the Knipser winery are among the best, but Gault-Millau also certifies that with "all-rounder" skills "to be among the best in almost everything [...] nationwide". Locations and grape varieties

On a total vineyard area of 40 hectares, located on limestone - and Kalkmergelböden distribute are 28% Pinot Noir - and 20% Riesling grown vines. Another 9% is used by Merlot and 8% by Chardonnay . Dornfelder accounts for 6% . The remaining 22% are distributed among various other grape varieties.

The vineyards of the winery are located in the area of ​​the cities of Laumersheim, Großkarlbach and Dirmstein . The Laumersheimer Almond Mountain and Kirschgarten , the Großkarlbacher Burgweg and the Dirmsteiner Almond Path are to be highlighted as special locations .

All red wines are aged in barriques .
