The wine museum in Ehnen presents working and living habits with a focus on viticulture .

history

The castle-like building was the seat of the Wellenstein family for centuries. Engelbert Wellenstein, lay judge of the Grevenmacher district judge in 1662 , had the building built. The family acquired adjoining houses through purchase and marriage. Zacharias Wellenstein built the new building inside the courtyard in 1866 and his daughter married into the Servais family.

Exhibition space

The museum has halls with pictures and tools from the beginning to the middle of the 20th century. Most of these are gifts and loans from the residents of Ehnen and the surrounding area. The entire cycle of viticulture is shown. In the back yard of the building there is a model vineyard with typical Luxembourg grape varieties. An antique forge , a calibration office , a cooper's workshop and a distillery are housed in the outbuildings .

organization

The museum is run by the local tourist association.
