Wisdom temple
The Temple of Wisdom is a pavilion donated to the population of Hof (Upper Franconia) in 1907 . It is architecturally based on Greek antiquity and is located in Hofer Stadtpark Theresienstein , east of Gumpertsreuther Weg in the so-called Weißmath facility. The pavilion does not owe its name to wisdom in the spiritual sense, but to its donors, the brothers Carl, Jean (Hans) and Georg Weisheit.
Universities are sometimes referred to as wisdom stamps (sometimes ironically) .
description
The pavilion is octagonal and slightly elongated. The temple of wisdom is open on the side flanks, the rear wall is closed. Four steps lead to the entrance, flanked by two fluted Doric columns that support a straight segmented arched gable. A bulbous cupola roof made of copper protects the temple from above.
