Claudio Javier López (born July 17, 1974 in Río Tercero ) is a former Argentine football player .

Career

society

Claudio López began his career at Racing Club Avellaneda , for which he played from 1992 to 1996. He then went to the Spanish club FC Valencia , where he played for four years before moving to Lazio Rome in 2000 for a transfer fee of around 23 million euros . There he played until the 2003/04 season after which he moved to Mexico for Club America , where he played until 2006. In 2007 he returned to his old club Racing Club Avellaneda. From March 2008 López played for the Kansas City Wizards in the US Major League Soccer , since 2010 he has been playing for the Colorado Rapids . In May 2011, he announced his retirement from professional football.

National team

López has played a total of 58 games for the Argentine national soccer team and scored 10 goals. He has 1996 Argentina silver at the Olympic Games won and participated in the World Championships in 1998 and 2002 in part.
