history

The Weisseneggerhof was originally a farm that belonged to the sovereigns. In 1414 it came into the possession of Hans Strohmeyr, who sold it to Hans Hofstetter zu Tobel. Before 1480 the farm probably became a noble farm and belonged to Paul Golder. Around 1490 the estate went to Wolfgang von Weissenck, who bequeathed it to his son Hans in 1529. At that time the farm was known as "Goldenhof" or "Hof zu Lidlsdorf". Hans Golder's granddaughter Johanna married Erasmus von Glojach in 1591 and brought the property into their marriage. Between 1593 and 1596, the Glojach building was rebuilt in its largely preserved shape. Further renovations took place in 1624 and 1626.

In 1635 the estate was sold by Glojach's heirs to Johann Ulrich von Eggenberg, who linked it with his rule in Eggenberg . The Eggenbergers enlarged the farm. The estate remained in the possession of the von Eggenberg family until 1785, before it was bought by Richard Seebacher. In 1962 the building was renovated. Today it is privately owned.

description

Weisseneggerhof Graz, loopholes

The current appearance of the Weisseneggerhof dates largely from the period from 1593 to 1596 and 1624 to 1626. The building with a late-Gothic core consists of several structures with facades with suspected windows. The buildings are covered by a combination of hip and half-hip roofs . There are two-storey pillar arcades on the western side of the courtyard . In 1732 a fresco with an alliance coat of arms, namely the coat of arms of the Eggenberg and that of the Sternberg, was attached to the east facade . On the ground floor as well as on the upper floors of the eastern and southern wing there are several rooms with pointed arches - lancet vaults , some of which have pointed arch belts, on the ground floor of the southern porch triangular key loopholes were exposed during the last restoration . In the staircase of the eastern wing there is a stone shoulder arch portal . The east wing has lancet and star ridge vaults on the first and second floors with coats of arms .
