Carla Elena Stampfli (born April 25, 1984 in Zurich ) is a former Swiss swimmer, triathlete and Olympian (2004) who is now a journalist.

Career

Carla Stampfli attended the Solothurn Cantonal School . She achieved several Swiss records as a competitive swimmer. In 2003 and 2004 she started at the World Short Course Championships.

2004 Summer Olympics

She took part in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens for the medley relay of the Swiss swimming team and came in 15th. In 2006 she started at the European Swimming Championships in Budapest . In 2008 she just missed the Olympic limit for Beijing and from then on she concentrated on studying in Milan.

Triathlon since 2009

She switched to triathlon in 2009. In France, the woman from Solothurn started at the Grand Prix de Triathlon for the Brive Limousin Triathlon club .

In 2012 she won the first edition of a national Italian championship on the triathlon middle distance. In the same year, the studied communication scientist and interpreter for English, German and Italian declared her active time as a triathlete to be over and she has been working in journalism ever since.
