World Psoriasis Day

The world Psoriasistag (English World Psoriasis Day , WPD ) is held annually on October 29 committed.

The purpose of the day of action is to raise awareness of psoriasis and those affected by it, in particular by raising awareness of the problems associated with the disease and by trying to give patients a voice.

history

The day of action was first proclaimed in 2004 by the International Federation of Psoriasis Associations ; it has a different motto every year:

  • 2012: Psoriasis - a global health challenge (Eng., Ger. Psoriasis - a global health challenge ; motto in Germany: "Psoriasis knows no borders").
  • 2013: Global access to treatment ( Worldwide access to treatment ; in Germany: "Psoriasis: Good care for everyone"). On the occasion of World Psoriasis Day 2013, the German Psoriasis Association announced that experts estimate that around a quarter (“24%”) of those suffering from psoriasis no longer go to a doctor due to dissatisfaction with their treatment. Treatments that are too late, incorrect or insufficient due to a lack of knowledge among doctors and patients about the extent and therapies of the disease are no longer acceptable.

Actions

Around October 29th, medical associations, clinics and self-help groups organize events to provide information about psoriasis.
