United Bible Societies

The United Bible Societies ( UBS , German United Bible Societies or World Federation of Bible Societies ) is a worldwide association of Bible societies . In 1946, UBS was founded by delegates from 13 countries in Haywards Heath (England) to coordinate the activities of the Bible Societies. UBS has headquarters in London and Geneva .

In 2011, 32.1 million Bibles were distributed through the 146 national Bible Societies of UBS. In Brazil alone there were 8 million copies.

Together with the Amity Foundation , established in Nanjing in 1985 , UBS owns the Amity Printing Company , a printing company founded in Nanjing in 1988 that prints more Bibles than any other printing company worldwide (more than 160 million Bibles in more than 90 languages ​​as of 2017).
