World Communication Day

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The day of social communications was founded in 1967 by Pope Paul VI. as World Day of mass media introduced. It takes place six weeks after Easter Sunday or three days after Ascension Day. In Germany it is always celebrated on the second Sunday in September. With a view to this day, the respective Pope publishes a message on the feast of St. Francis de Sales - the patron saint of journalists (January 24th) - which explains Christian social teaching regarding the ethics of the mass media.
