Wendy Bagwell and the Sunliters

Wendy Bagwell and the Sunliters is the name of a gospel song group around Wendell Lee Bagwell (1925–1996).

They were best known through television in the early 1960s. In 1965 they were the first gospel group to tour Europe . In 1968 they had already released their fourth studio album. In 1970 they sold their millionth record and signed it to Canaan Records , having previously produced with Scripture Records .

They occurred up to 150 times a year. In 1997 they were honored with induction into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame and in 2001 into the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame . In three decades they had 100 publications.

The group's initial cast consisted of Wendy Bagwell, Geraldine Terry (who later appeared as Jerri Morrison) and Georgia Jones . Jones later enjoyed success with Dot Pressley, Virginia Williams and "Little Jan" Buckner.
