Gospel Music Association

The Gospel Music Association (GMA) was founded in 1964 with the purpose of supporting and promoting all forms of gospel music. The number of members is around 4,000 worldwide. The GMA provides a network for artists, industry leaders, retailers, radio stations, concert organizers and local churches to coordinate their activities and to support the Christian music industry.

Every April the GMA organizes GMA Music Week in Nashville , Tennessee . Informal meetings, seminars and concerts are organized for artists, the music industry, members and the media. The GMA Music Week ends with the presentation of the GMA Dove Awards , with which outstanding achievements in gospel music and Christian pop music are recognized. The Music in the Rockies festival has been organized annually in Estes Park , Colorado since 1974 . The festival provides a showcase for new composers, lyricists and artists in Christian pop music.

The GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame (the Gospel Hall of Fame) was founded in 1971. Artists who will have made extraordinary contributions to the promotion of gospel will be accepted there. Well-known members include Elvis Presley , Mahalia Jackson , Keith Green , Larry Norman , The Blackwood Brothers , The Jordanaires , Johnny Cash and others.
