Weng Weng
Weng Weng (actually Ernesto de la Cruz ; born September 7, 1957 in Baclaran , Manila , † August 29, 1992 in Pasay City ) was a Filipino actor and martial arts fighter.
Weng, largely unknown in German-speaking countries, became known as the "smallest leading actor in a movie" through his entry in the Guinness Book of Records . Weng measured 83 cm and was active as an actor from the 1970s until his death in the 1990s .
Weng played in films and appeared in supporting roles from 1972 until he was hired by comedy actor Dolphy as a sidekick for his film The Quick Brown Fox . The success of the work not only resulted in a sequel , but also led to an agent film parody with the short Weng in the lead role: For y'ur Height Only . Another six films with leading roles followed by 1984. Weng was a popular guest on television shows, at public events and campaign appearances.
He died in 1992 of the medical consequences of his short stature.
