Laudenbach is a district of the city of Großalmerode in the Werra-Meißner district in northern Hesse .
Geographical location
Laudenbach is located in the geo-nature park Frau-Holle-Land (Werratal.Meißner.Kaufunger Wald) about 3.5 km southeast of the core town of Großalmerode - between Uengsterode (to Großalmerode) in the north-northeast and Velmeden (to Hessisch Lichtenau ) in the south-southwest. It is located between the Hohe Meißner ( 753.6 m ) in the east-southeast and the Hohekopf ( 539.4 m ) in the north-west and is traversed by the Gelster tributary Laudenbach .
history
The oldest known mention can be found in a document from the Hersfeld Monastery from 1297. Since then, the population has grown continuously.
In the Thirty Years War (1618–48) Laudenbach fell victim to the so-called Croatian storm in 1637 , from which it recovered. Always belonging to the Landgraviate of Hessen-Kassel , the local Greben were encouraged to report to Kassel on the economic and social conditions in Laudenbach.
The old salt road to Bad Sooden-Allendorf led through Laudenbach, thus driving salt was an important line of business alongside agriculture and mining ( lignite , alum , washing earth ), which had been in operation since 1585 . Laudenbach has had its own school since the 17th century, and the town's church is one of the oldest in the area and was the center of the parish district of the surrounding villages.
The place belonged to the Hessian office Lichtenau until 1821 and then to the district of Witzenhausen . During the French occupation, the place belonged to the canton of Lichtenau in the Kingdom of Westphalia (1807-1813). Politically, the village has been shaped by the SPD since the establishment of the Reich in 1871 and even more since 1919 (the SPD local association Laudenbach was founded in 1909).
On 1 January 1974 Laudenbach was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse powerful state law in the city of Großalmerode incorporated .

The village council consists of five members. In the 2016 local council election, the SPD received 67.3% and the CDU 32.7%. The mayor is Horst Küllmer (SPD).

In Laudenbach there is a sports, homeland, singing, riding and rifle club, the theater group “Die Hoaderlumpen”, a department of the Bundeswehr reservist comradeship, the non-profit youth association “Partyteufel Laudenbach” and the volunteer fire brigade .
