Wennefer (vizier)

Wennefer was an ancient Egyptian vizier of the 20th dynasty who lived under King ( Pharaoh ) Ramses XI. officiated. The vizier was the highest state office in ancient Egypt after the king. Wennefer was the son of a vizier, probably from Ramses-Monthherhatef. He is in the Maat Temple in Karnak behind Ramses XI. depicted who sacrifices the mate . Wennefer's father is mentioned here, but his name has not been fully preserved. Wennefer may also be mentioned on a papyrus dated to the ruler's year 18. However, this could also be another vizier of the same name.
