The village was first mentioned as Wencendorp in 1230 in a document in which Margrave Heinrich gave the village to the Mühlberg monastery . However, there is evidence that the place had to pay interest to the Nimbschen monastery as early as 1251 . Otto and Botho von Ileburg donate an annual interest of 7 marks from Wenzendorf to the monastery in Mühlberg . Between 1557 and 1570 Wenzendorf with 20 hooves belonged to the Bishop of Meißen, after which it became the official village of the Mühlberg Office. After fires in 1637, the Thirty Years War left behind various devastations (1652).

In 1816 there were 173 inhabitants in Wenzendorf, in 1910 there were 444 inhabitants. In 1937 Wenzendorf was incorporated into Koßdorf together with Lehndorf .
