Werner Brombach

Werner Brombach (born December 29, 1939 ) is a German master brewer and entrepreneur. He is the owner of the private brewery Erdinger Weißbräu .

Life

Brombach was born as the youngest of three sons of the brewery owner Franz Brombach. He studied brewing sciences and joined his parents' company in 1965. After the death of his father in 1975, he took over management of the company and subsequently expanded it into the largest wheat beer brewery in the world.

With investments of 45 million D-Marks, he initiated a comprehensive modernization of the company in the early 1980s. In 1983 he had a new brewery built on the outskirts of Erding , with which the output could be increased to up to 165,000 bottles per hour. He began to market the Erdinger Weissbier brand worldwide. In 2004 the beer was exported to more than 70 countries, and in 2018 to 90 countries.

Awards

  • In 2005 Brombach was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit for his lifetime achievement .
  • In 2019 Werner Brombach received the heron order of the Narrhalla Erding carnival society.
