Werner Dilger

Werner Dilger (born March 24, 1942 in Winterbach ; † July 17, 2007 in Chemnitz ) was a German professor of computer science and held the chair for artificial intelligence at the TU Chemnitz . His last main area of ​​research was the study of artificial immune systems .

Dilger studied Protestant theology and completed a basic course in mathematics. He then turned to computer science, which he completed in 1974 in Karlsruhe as a computer scientist. He did his doctorate and habilitation at the University of Kaiserslautern .

From 1989 to 1993 he was Professor of Practical Computer Science at the EBS University of Economics and Law at Reichartshausen Castle . In 1993 he was appointed to the Chemnitz University of Technology , where he held the professorship for artificial intelligence. One month after saying goodbye he drowned in the Oberrabenstein reservoir as a result of a heart attack.
