Werner Färber (* 1957 in Wassertrüdingen ) is a German children's book author .

Life

Werner Färber was born in Wassertrüdingen in 1957. As a schoolboy he liked to write, which is why he became a member of the school newspaper and shortly afterwards a sports reporter for the local press. Since his career aspiration to become a journalist could not be put into practice, he studied English, pedagogy and sport in Freiburg and Hamburg, but did not complete his studies and only taught as an "assistant teacher" for one year after passing the intermediate examination a school in Scotland (Dundee).

Back in Germany he met the illustrator Barbara Moßmann. Her pictures inspired him to write for children and subsequently wrote texts for their picture stories. Soon afterwards his first book was written, which was to be followed by many more.

Färber has been working as an author and freelance translator since 1985 and also works for various broadcasters. Through numerous readings in schools, libraries, cultural institutions ... he has close contact with the audience. With his fun poetry program UNGEREIMTHEITEN FROM THE ANIMAL WORLD, he is also on stage in front of adults.

After another year in England, Werner Färber now lives with Mrs. Barbara Moßmann in Hamburg.
