Werner Frick (* 1953 in Altensteig ) is a German Germanist ( literary scholar ).

Life

Werner Frick studied German, comparative literature, philosophy, history and musicology in Tübingen and Paris from 1971 to 1977 . In 1985 he received his doctorate under Klaus-Detlef Müller in Kiel and was then a research assistant at the Universities of Regensburg and Augsburg , and in 1997 he received his habilitation at the University of Augsburg. In 1998 he became a professor at the University of Mainz , in 1999 he was given the chair for Modern German and Comparative Literature at the University of Göttingen , and in 2004 he switched to the Chair for Modern German and Comparative Literature at the University of Freiburg .

Werner Frick is a full member of the Academies of Science in Göttingen (since 2002) and Heidelberg (since 2005).
