Werner Griese

Werner Griese (born May 9, 1948 in Erfurt ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and member of the Thuringian state parliament.

Life and work

Griese finished school in 1966 with the Abitur and became a skilled worker for telecommunications technology. From 1968 to 1973 he completed a distance learning course in economics and data processing. During this time, he worked as an IT project engineer in the data processing center in Erfurt until 1979 and then in the Erfurt housing association . In 1990 he became head of department for magistrate representation matters at the magistrate of the city of Erfurt.

In 1990 Griese became a member of the First Thuringian State Parliament . In 1995/96 he worked there as a personal assistant to the chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. On May 1, 1996 he took over the mandate for the deputy Dr. Peter Gundermann . Griese was a city council member in Erfurt and deputy state chairman of the Thuringian Workers' Welfare Association and the SPD's Working Group for Employee Issues (AfA). Since 2004 he has been honorary chairman of the AWO regional association Thuringia.
