The Clever Au (sometimes referred to as Barger Au ) is a stream in the municipality of Stockelsdorf and the city of Bad Schwartau in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein .

course

The Clever Au rises in the northern part of the municipality of Stockelsdorf - west of Pohnsdorf and north of Arfrade . It initially flows southwards, where it joins numerous streams, through the village of Arfrade, shortly afterwards it changes its course towards the east to the town of Bad Schwartau , where it is dammed into a mill pond in the Rensefeld district (near Klein Mühlen ). Something behind the millpond it flows south and empties near the A1 in the Tremser pond , the east over the mill stream in the backwaters of Travelodge drained.

The northern course of the Clever Au (in Bad Schwartau and Stockelsdorf ) is since 20 March 1991 as a conservation area "Clever Au - valley and rock wood" (with a size of 290 hectares reported).

Others

The origin of the name of the Au is the same as that of the former village of Cleve .
