Rensefeld (from the Slavic first name: "Ranislav" = "The early famous" + "-feld" ) is a district of the town of Bad Schwartau in the Ostholstein district , Schleswig-Holstein .

Rensefeld was originally an independent municipality, was incorporated in 1934 and is now seamlessly integrated with Bad Schwartau.

The original complex as an anger village - with the village pond (now used as a fire water pond) and the Rensefelder Feldsteinkirche with the surrounding former cemetery - is clearly recognizable. Rensefeld with the Rensefelder Feldsteinkirche was the center of the large Rensefeld parish .

history

Rensefeld was founded by Vizelin shortly after Wagrien was conquered by the Holsten in 1138/1139. Vizelin was commissioned by the Roman-German King Konrad III with the reconstruction of the destroyed church in Alt-Lübeck .

The first documentary mention took place in 1177 - at this time Rensefeld had a church and an inventory of 30 farmsteads - as half the property of the Lübeck Johanniskloster . From the property of the Lübeck Johanniskloster Rensefeld (together with the associated Klein Mühlen - which arose at the mill on the Clever Au ) passed into the possession of the Lübeck bishop around 1287 - from which later the Lübeck bishopric (also the prince-bishopric of Lübeck) emerged in 1804 Part of the principality of Lübeck (dominion of the (grand) dukes of Oldenburg ).

The Rensefelder Church was the parish church of the very large Rensefelder parish , which until the end of the 19th century comprised the entire northern edge of Lübeck from Stockelsdorf to the Trave .

On November 1, 1859, the new Oldenburg municipal code created the rural community of Rensefeld .

In the 19th century Rensefeld developed into a village of workers and farmers.

In 1934 the rural community of Rensefeld was dissolved and incorporated into Bad Schwartau.
