Werner Helbig

Werner Helbig (born May 2, 1922 in Dresden ; † February 5, 1986 ) was a German politician of the FDP .

Life and work

Werner Helbig attended elementary school and completed an apprenticeship as a baker. Later he was a metal worker. He was a member of IG Metall. He was chairman of the district group of the German Parity Welfare Association from March 1964 to December 1973. He was an alderman and head of the social department of the city of Solingen from 1973 to September 1980.

politics

Werner Helbig was a member of the FDP from 1946. He served as district chairman of the FDP from 1959. He was councilor of the city of Solingen from December 1952 to October 1973 and he was mayor of the city of Solingen from November 1969 to October 1973.

Helbig acted as a member of the state advisory board for pollution control and as a member of the board of trustees of the Haus des Deutschen Ostens foundation. He was a member of the Rhineland Landscape Assembly from 1967 to 1973.

Werner Helbig was a member of the 7th state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from July 26, 1970 to May 27, 1975 , to which he entered via the state list. In the state parliament he was from July 1970 to May 1975 deputy chairman of the FDP state parliamentary group.
