Werner Kummerer

Werner Kummerer (born May 19, 1948 in Mistelbach an der Zaya ; † May 30, 2019 there ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and member of the National Council .

education and profession

Werner Kummerer attended the elementary school in Mistelbach between 1954 and 1958 and then the Bundesrealgymnasium in Laa an der Thaya until 1966 . Kummerer did his military service from 1966 to 1967 and then studied technical chemistry at the Technical University of Vienna . In 1974 he completed his studies with the academic degree Dipl.-Ing. from.

Kummerer was a university assistant at the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna in 1975 and a chemist at OMV AG between 1976 and 2000 . Most recently he was head of the environmental protection department at OMV's oil and gas operations in Gänserndorf .

politics

Between 1981 and 1997, Kummerer was a member of the municipal council of Mistelbach and in 1989 a city councilor. Between 1990 and 1995 he held the office of Second Vice Mayor. He was also local party chairman of the SPÖ Mistelbach from 1996 and district party chairman of the SPÖ Mistelbach from 1998.

Between November 7, 1994 and October 29, 2006 he represented the SPÖ in the National Council.
