Werner Kunze

Werner Kunze (born April 10, 1909 in Schildhorst ; † May 19, 1986 in Lüneburg ) was a German administrative officer and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and high school as well as passing the administrative examination, Kunze worked from 1927 to 1938 as a clerk in the labor administration. From 1939 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier and after the end of the war he worked again in the labor administration. After he was taken over as a government councilor in the service of the state of Lower Saxony in 1952 , he acted as police chief in Wilhelmshaven . In 1959 he was appointed Ministerial Councilor. He then worked as a civil defense officer in the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior.

Political party

Kunze joined the SPD in 1927, which was banned by the National Socialists in 1933. In 1945 he was one of the co-founders of the Social Democrats in Wolfsburg and Gifhorn . Here he was later local and district chairman of the party.

MP

Kunze was a council member of the city of Wolfsburg and a member of the district council of the Gifhorn district . From 1947 to 1951 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1965 to 1969. He was drawn into parliament via the Lower Saxony state list.

Public offices

Kunze has been the district administrator of the Gifhorn district since 1946 and mayor of the city of Wolfsburg in 1946/47.
