Werner Neidhardt (born January 22, 1940 ) was a soccer player in the GDR Oberliga , the top soccer class of the GDR soccer association . He played there for SC Dynamo Berlin and SG Dynamo Dresden .

Neidhardt's senior league career began in 1960 with the GDR Cup winner SC Dynamo Berlin. The 20-year-old player played five point games this season, which was played over 26 game days from March to November, and remained without a goal.

It took two years before Neidhardt reappeared in the league. On August 19, 1962, the 1st match day of the 1962/63 season, he was on the field for Dynamo Dresden as a left defender against SC Lok Leipzig. He was used without interruption in the following five league games, but from the 3rd matchday on as a striker. Neidhardt played his last league game on November 11, 1962. In the match on the 12th match day, he was used again as a left defender. In the previous season 1961/62 Neidhardt was involved in the rise of Dynamo Dresden from the GDR league .

After his twelve league games without scoring in Berlin and Dresden, Neidhardt was initially no longer used in higher-class football. It was not until the summer of 1965 that the GDR league team took on Einheit Greifswald Neidhardt for the striker Ferdinand Brusch, who had been handed over to Motor Stralsund , in his squad. From 1st to 12th matchday of the 1965/66 season Neidhardt was mostly used as a right winger in nine GDR league games, in which he scored two goals. Then Neidhardt also moved to league competitor Motor Stralsund. After the BSG Motor was taken over by the Army Sports Association Vorwärts Stralsund , Neidhardt played for the sailor team for three seasons up to the summer of 1970. During this time he was part of the regular team, in which he was called up in midfield for the last two years. For the forward team he completed 68 of 90 played point games in the GDR league.
