Werner lack of concern

Ernst Werner Theodor Ohnsorge , pseudonym Wilhelm Strauch (born January 16, 1904 in Dresden , † November 23, 1985 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse ) was a German Byzantinist and archivist .

In 1922 at the University of Berlin he studied classical philology and history with Werner Jaeger , Eduard Meyer , Friedrich Meinecke and Albert Brackmann . After receiving his doctorate in Berlin in 1927, he worked in the Lower Saxony archives service from 1947 and from 1961 honorary professor for Middle and Modern History with special consideration of Byzantine history and 1969 Professor for Middle and Modern History with special consideration of Byzantine history at the University of Hamburg .
