Werner Rettig

Werner Rettig (born July 9, 1942 in Emsdetten , Steinfurt district ) is a former German politician ( SPD ) and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Werner Rettig attended elementary school and grammar school in Oldenburg and graduated from secondary school in 1960. He then completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer until 1963, after which he went on to study at the Oldenburg University of Applied Sciences, which he completed with the title of engineer (grad.) For civil engineering in 1967. He then trained as a construction inspector candidate (senior civil engineering service) for the Lower Saxony road construction administration and completed his career examination in 1969. He headed the road maintenance department in Wildeshausen from 1970 to 1974 and then worked in Oldenburg as a clerk for the Weser-Ems district government in 1986. From 1986 to 1994 he was politically active as a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament, after which he worked in an architecture office as head of the engineering department and until December 31, 2005 in the Oldenburg government agency of the Ministry of Economics, Labor and Transport in the public sector Procurement.

Werner Rettig is married and has four children.

Politics and offices

Rettig joined the SPD in 1972 and remained a member until March 1993. He took over the chairmanship of the supervisory board of Verkehr und Wasser GmbH , was a member of the council and the Wildeshausen planning committee from 1972 to 1974. He was also a member of the City Council of Oldenburg from 1976 to 1993, chairman of the SPD parliamentary group from 1986 to 1990 and also worked there in bodies such as the building and planning committee and the administrative committee.

From June 21, 1986 to June 20, 1994 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (11th and 12th electoral terms), until March 17, 1993 as a member of the SPD parliamentary group, thereafter non-attached. He worked from June 21, 1990 to March 31, 1993 as secretary in the Lower Saxony state parliament.
