Werner Wiater

Werner Bernhard Wiater (born October 8, 1946 in Wassenberg ) is a German school teacher and former Vice President of the University of Augsburg .

Wiater studied in the teacher training program from 1965 in Bonn religion (Catholic) and Romance ( French ). During the following three years of teaching he received his doctorate in theology. From 1975 to 1978 he taught as a university lecturer in Hildesheim . In 1977 he received his doctorate in education at the University of Bonn and in 1979 he was appointed professor for education in Clausthal . In 1983 he completed his habilitation in Hildesheim with an educational topic. From 1987 to 2015 he was full professor for school education at the University of Augsburg. He is married and has three children.

Wiater has published writings and textbooks on school pedagogy, including on school theory . His research areas include school and teaching theory, hermeneutic educational research, multilingualism and textbook research.
