Wesley Coe

Wesley Coe ( William Wesley Coe Jr. , born May 8, 1879 in Boston , † December 24, 1926 in Bozeman ) was an American shot putter .

In 1901 and 1902 he became British champion.

At the 1904 Olympic Games in St. Louis, he won the silver medal with 14.40 m behind his compatriot Ralph Rose , who set a world record with 14.81 m.

In 1905 he became US champion with the world best of 15.09 m, and in 1906 he defended this title. At the Olympic Games in London in 1908 , he was fourth.

In the tug-of-war at the games in London , he finished fifth with the US team.
