The 2009 Western & Southern Financial Group Masters & Women's Open was the 108th edition of the hard court tennis tournament in Mason, Ohio near Cincinnati . The women's tournament was part of the WTA Tour 2009 as a tournament in the Premier 5 category and took place from August 10th to 16th, 2009. The men's tournament took place from August 17 to 24, 2009.

In the women's singles, Jelena Janković won 6: 4, 6: 2 against Dinara Safina and in the doubles the pairing Cara Black / Liezel Huber against Nuria Llagostera Vives / María José Martínez Sánchez 6: 3, 0: 6, [10: 2]. Kim Clijsters made her comeback at this tournament.
