The Western Academy of Beijing (WAB) is a Beijing private school. WAB was founded in 1994. There are classes from kindergarten through 12th grade. The WAB uses the IB PYP (IB Primary Years Program) up to the 5th grade, IB MYP (IB Middle Years Program) up to and including the 10th grade, and the International Baccalaureate (IBO-DP) for the 12th grade. MCAS was also an Olympic Model Educational School for the 2008 Olympics, and was recognized as an Olympic Model School by the 500 international schools across China by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games. WAB was one of 120 schools recognized as an “Excellent Example”.
Facilities
The WAB has a day care center for children, a primary school, a middle school and a high school. The school has three libraries: the Sabina Brady Library , the Red Scroll and the Green Sky Studio . The HUB is the sports, arts and technology center for middle school and high school. Other institutions are:

WABX
WABX is WAB's after-school program, including sports and various other activities. WAB participates in several interscholastic sporting competitions including the ACAMIS (Association of Chinese and Mongolian International Schools,) ISAC (International School Association in China), EARCOS and APAC . Sport consists of: * Rugby, soccer (soccer), tennis, badminton, cross country, athletics, volleyball, basketball, swimming, baseball, softball and the arts. Music with bands and orchestras, theater and the arts is also taught at the Western Academy of Beijing. There are different lessons around the different

The school has many charities that are actively involved in the local community. Each department (ES, MS and HS) has a student government, called the Student Council (Stu Co). The WAB also has many extracurricular clubs such as:

The WAB is also one of the first international schools in Beijing to have a half of paper and electronic semester book starting from middle school in the 2012 - 2013 school year. The food in the WAB is provided by Aramark . There are various international dishes.
Accreditation
The WAB is accredited by many associations such as IBO, NCCT, NEASC, ACAMIS and the CIS. Takes place November 2013.
