In 1959, Davidson teamed up with William Fishman and the company was renamed Automatic Retailers of America (ARA). In 1994 the company was renamed Aramark. 2001–2006, Aramark shares were listed on the New York Stock Exchange until a consortium of private equity firms bought the company. Since December 2013 Aramark has been a listed company again.

1959 was expanded to Europe. One of the first activities there was the machine operation on the Adam Opel AG factory premises in Rüsselsheim . The Federal Ministry of Finance in Bonn was the first catering customer in company catering in 1969 .

In 2011 Aramark was selected among the top 3 in the category “Germany's most sustainable companies” at the German Sustainability Award .
