The Western Wildcats HC is a hockey club from Milngavie , a northern suburb of Glasgow in Scotland . The club was founded in 1898 as Western HC , making it the oldest hockey club in Scotland still in existence. Until 1968, Western was based in Glasgow's West End, but had no space of its own. So the club joined the Milngavie and Bearsden Sports Club , which also has departments in cricket , tennis and squash . In the 1920s, the ladies from Western HC started their own business as Western Ladies and have been based in Titwood in the south of Glasgow ever since. In 2002 Western HC decided to put women’s teams back into place. To avoid confusion with the Western Ladies, the club was renamed Western Wildcats.
