Westfälische Forschungen is a regional scientific journal of the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) on the modern regional history of Westphalia. It was published from 1938 to 1942 by the Provincial Institute for Westphalian Regional Studies and Folklore (therefore initially with the additional title messages of the Provincial Institute for Westphalian Regional History and Ethnology ), today the LWL Institute for Westphalian Regional History , then again from 1952. The first editor was Ernst Rieger , Successors were Franz Petri , Peter Schöller and Alfred Hartlieb von Wallthor . The magazine is published once a year by Aschendorff Verlag in Münster .
