The passenger ship Westfalen was built in 1978 as hull number 68 at the Lux shipyard in Mondorf for traffic on the Biggesee . The operator is Lux-Werft und Schiffahrt GmbH in Sondern am Biggesee, or its subsidiary Personenschifffahrt Biggesee, which also operates the MS Bigge on the lake .

history

Originally the ship was 39 m long and 7.60 m wide. In the winter of 1990/91 it was lengthened by 12 m and widened by 4 m with two bay-shaped extensions in the front half. The interior was converted into a gallery ship. Another renovation took place in 2011. This time the stern area was widened to 11.6 m and extended by 4 m.

The Westphalia runs between Olpe and Attendorn . It is approved for 750 passengers. Entry and exit are via a bow ramp.
