The Western Lunga , also known as West Lunga , is a river in the northwestern province of Zambia .

It rises near the source of the Zambezi , north of Mwinilunga in the rainforest area of the Zambian tip in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and flows into the Kabompo in West Lunga National Park . The western lunga is over 300 kilometers long, is rich in fish and is a popular travel destination among anglers with a view of the tiger tetra, which can weigh up to 15 kg .
The West Lunga River is to be distinguished from the Lunga River , which flows into the Kafue .
