The Lunga River (also Great Lunga ) is a river in Zambia .

The right tributary of the Kafue rises about 50 kilometers northwest of Solwezi on the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo and is a good 400 kilometers long. Its course runs through the region of the Copperbelt to the south and then through the animal-rich Miombo forests .

Like the river Lufupa , it flows into the 750 km² Busanga swamps above and north of the Itezhitezhi dam in the Kafue National Park in the Kafue. Its banks in the national park are a popular tourist destination. They are well developed with camps with lodges.
