Westmoreland City Park
The Westmoreland City Park is about a 17-hectare park and sports facility in Portland in the US state of Oregon in the United States . The park is located in East City Center, on Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard and Bybee Boulevard .

In January 1936, the City of Portland purchased the area known as Broom Field , previously part of a pasture, to make it a park. The architect Francis B. Jacobberger received a planning contract, which however did not lead to the desired success. In 1938, Nick Sckavone , a pharmacist and baseball fan , tried to equip the property near the city with a baseball field . In 1939 the city approved $ 197,299 , of which $ 42,000 was earmarked for the construction of the sports field. In 1979 the Uroboros sculpture by artist Charles Kibby was inaugurated in the park . In 1989 the city invested USD 375,000 to renovate the infrastructure. On June 23, 1992 the sports facilities were officially reopened.
Today the sports complex in Westmoreland City Park includes a basketball court , an American football field , a tennis facility , a soccer field and a softball field in addition to the baseball field .
