Coordinates: 31 ° 18 ′ S , 118 ° 42 ′ E The Shire of Westonia is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 3304 km² and has about 300 inhabitants (2016).
Westonia is located in the western Australian "wheat belt" in the southwest of the state about 280 kilometers east of the capital Perth . The seat of the Shire Council is in the village of Westonia, where about 200 residents live (2016).

The Westonia Council has six members. The councilors are elected by the residents of the four wards (two each from the town and north and one each from the south and central ward). The Council Chairman and Shire President are also recruited from among the Councilor.
