The West Palatinate Musicians Museum in Mackenbach documents the history of the West Palatinate touring musicians , whose heyday was between 1850 and the First World War .

In addition to the musical instruments of the traveling musicians, an extensive collection also shows African musical instruments, historical photos of the musicians' villages and houses as well as souvenirs. The interdependencies between Musikantenland and the culture of German emigrants, especially in the USA, are also discussed.

The West Palatinate Musicians Museum was opened in 1991 in the Mackenbach community center in Musikantenland . The municipality of Mackenbach is responsible for this. The museum was inspired by an exhibition on the subject of "Mackenbacher Wandering Musicians" as part of the centenary of the Mackenbach Music Association in 1983.
