Use of the term

The term “Musikantenland” is often used in this area for tourist purposes. The district of Kusel presents its tourist activities under the slogan "Pfälzer Bergland - Kuseler Musikantenland ". Regional dishes are given the prefix “Musikantenland”, for example there is a Musikantenland roast and Musikantenland bratwürste.

The Musikantenland Museum in Lichtenberg Castle near Kusel and the West Palatinate Musicians Museum in Mackenbach are reminiscent of the history of the West Palatinate touring musicians .

Since 1984 the district of Kusel has awarded the Lichtenburg Prize of the Musikantenland as recognition of special achievements in the field of maintaining and further developing the West Palatinate musical tradition. Elmar Wolf, also Lichtenburg Prize winner, founded the publishing house "EDITION Musikantenland " after leaving EWOTON-Musikverlag, also as a sign of affection for Kuseler Musikantenland.

In 2003 the district music school, founded in 1948, was renamed "Kuseler Musikantenland Music School ".

Buildings such as the Musikantenlandhalle , a multi-purpose hall in Jettenbach, also bear the name.
