Weather gap

The weather gap is a high alpine mountain crossing in the Bernese Alps .

It is located at an altitude of 3169  m above sea level. M. between the Tschingelhorn in the west and the Breithorn in the east and connects the Lauterbrunnen valley in the north ( canton Bern ) with the Lötschental in the south ( canton Wallis ).

The first tourist crossing of the weather gap took place on July 22, 1864 by Adolphus Warburton Moore , Christian Almer and Antoine Eggel from the south.
