Joe Dean "Joey" Shaw II (born June 11, 1987 in Maricopa ) is an American - Austrian basketball player . The 1.99 meter tall winger was most recently under contract with the French second division club Hermine Nantes Atlantique .

career

Shaw is a native of Maricopa , Arizona . He played basketball at Deer Valley High School and between 2005 and 2007 at Indiana University , where he was not used in the 2005/06 season. He played at the College of Southern Idaho during the 2007-08 season and at the University of Nevada, Reno between 2008 and 2010 .

Shaw signed his first contract as a professional basketball player in 2010 with the Austrian Bundesliga club Oberwart Gunners and was named “New Professional of the Year” in the league in 2010/11 (named by eurobasket.com ) after he was instantly Austrian champion with Burgenland.

In 2012 Shaw moved to the Kapfenberg Bulls within the Bundesliga . There, as before in Oberwart, he impressed as a strong offensive player and was always among the top ten points shooters in the league. In 2014 he won the cup competition with Kapfenberg.

For the 2016/17 season he left Austria and moved to the French second division club Hermine Nantes Atlantique . At the end of December 2016, Shaw was removed from Nantes' squad. In twelve league games he achieved an average of 3.6 points and 1.9 rebounds, in the "Leaders Cup ProB" competition, Shaw posted averages of 11.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in six missions.

National team

In June 2014 Shaw became an Austrian citizen and later called up to the national team.
