The Weyland GmbH is an Austrian family business in wholesale. The company's headquarters are in St. Florian am Inn . The company is 100% owned by Otto Weyland. The company's range consists of steel and reinforcement, wood-based materials and carpentry supplies. The company includes the subsidiary Weyland Steiner Handwerks- und Industriebedarf GmbH & Co. KG, which is headquartered in Bergheim in Salzburg and sells building goods & fastening technology, fittings, house & seasonal items and electrical appliances in six branches.

history

In 1833 August Weyland founded a retail business in Schärding. In 1936 wholesale activities followed. As a further consequence, the increasing specialization as an iron dealer. In 1966 the company moved to Haid and steadily expanded the company premises. In 1978 the bath studio opened in Schärding and in 1999 the sanitary logistics center opened. In 2000 the name was changed from August Weyland to Weyland GmbH. In 2001 the company entered the Czech Republic, which was expanded to six locations by 2003. In 2004 the company Carl Steiner Handwerks- und Industriebedarfs GmbH was taken over. In 2006 the acquisition of PechaSan in the Czech Republic followed and in 2007 the takeover of the company Stahl Eberhardt in Graz. In 2008 the building services and in 2009 the PechaSan company were spun off to the Gienger company. In 2010 the company Gstettner Spenglerbedarfs GmbH in Vienna and the company MIP in Croatia were taken over. In 2011 the branch in Gleisdorf (Styria) was opened and a reinforcement hall with a capacity for 20,000 tons of material was built. In 2016, the company was reorganized and the technical wholesale business was split off into its own company, Weyland Steiner. In 2017 and 2018, two subsidiaries were incorporated into Weyland GmbH, one being Stahlhandel Steiner from Bergheim and the other being Stahl Eberhardt from Graz. Weyland now focuses on steel and wood. Most recently, the Ferrochema company from Spittal an der Drau was taken over into the group of companies.
