The Whalers Bluff ( English for Wahlfängererklippe ) is a 210 m high and steep cliff on Signy Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It rises east of Port Jebsen .
The highest point of the cliff is recorded on a map by the Norwegian whaling captain Magnus Thoralf Joachim Moe (1878 - unknown) from 1913 as Consulens Hat . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the cliff in 1990 in memory of longstanding whaling in the waters around the Southern Orkney Islands.
