Whayne Wilson

Whayne Wilson (born September 7, 1975 - May 18, 2005 ) was a Costa Rican soccer player .

Wilson began his professional career in July 2003 with the Costa Rican first division club Ramonense . In July 2004 the striker moved to league rivals CS Cartaginés and in January 2005 to Brujas Escazú . In total, he played 75 games in the Costa Rican first division during his career.

Under national coach Alexandre Guimarães , Wilson also made the leap into the squad of the Costa Rican national soccer team . With her he took in 2004 at the Copa America and the Summer Olympic Games in Athens in part. Wilson played four internationals. Most recently, he was used in the qualifying games for the 2006 World Cup .

Whayne Wilson died on May 18, 2005, at the age of 29, from the injuries he had sustained four days earlier when he drove his car into a truck on the road connecting San José and the Caribbean coast .
