The Whetter Nunatak is a small nunatak in the East Antarctic George V country . It rises 13 km east-northeast of Cape Denison on the east bank of Commonwealth Bay .
Participants of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered him. Mawson named him after Leslie Hatton Whetter (1888–1955), the New Zealand surgeon on this research trip .
