White Lake Township is a charter township in Oakland County in the US state of Michigan .

It is a suburb of Detroit , occasionally called White Lake , and is officially called the Charter Township of White Lake to indicate that the township has expanded municipal rights. In the 2010 census, the township had 30,019 residents.

The township was established as a township of Oakland County in 1836. Within its boundaries are the three parishes of East White Lake , Oxbow and White Lake . The Huron River has its source in White Lake Township.
